My jack-o-lantern's taller than your jack-o-lantern

Lousy couple of weeks.  Bank troubles, oversleeping, and it snowed today.  And tomorrow the supervisor from my UW class is coming to observe me.  This cannot go well.
On the flip side, my assistant principal came two Fridays ago and it went great!  She even said my principal mentioned that they really want to find a way to keep me -- a BIG vote of confidence since my contract is a one-year limited term at the moment.
Other than that, just pressing on.  We did a chapter from McCain's memoir and a chapter from Obama's, so today & tomorrow we're working on comparison-contrast.  Then Wednesday are PT conferences.  I wonder if any of my parents will come.  It's not usually their thing, for a lot of complicated reasons, many of which are on the part of the school.  I always get a little nervous when my Spanish gets a real test.

RYC: Yep, got there at 6:45 am, left at around 12, so it was a matter of endurance.  Luckily, people were nice enough to hold your place in line if you wanted to go around the corner to the convenience store for a 64-oz diet Coke.  Two of my main issues were, of course, the presidency, but also a "Proposition M," which would expand the public transportation system.  Of course, it went down in semi-spectacular flames. People don't care about things they don't have to use, and St. Louis is not built as a public transportation city, but as a car town. Since gas is now less than $2 a gallon, people didn't feel that they would ever have to give up their car for a while.  Of course, no one has thought about what this is going to do to the enrollment of the community colleges, which are the hardest hit--out of three, only one (my work campus) will have bus service if all this goes through.  The campus I need to take my last class to FINALLY graduate is on the chopping block, and there's really no way to get there by bike, since it's 15 miles.  I can only hope that they raise fares, as odd as that sounds, so that they won't cut the 40% of bus services they plan, but much less.

Ah, to live in a "real" city!
